More than 300 supporters of the campaign to free Bradford textile worker George Lindo, will converge on London's Law Courts in the Strand tomorrow morning. They will come from Bradford, Manchester, Liverpool, Hull and London for what they hope will be the final stage in their fight to clear George Lindo's name. As soon as Lindo was convicted in February 1978, of armed robbery at a betting shop in Leeds Road, Bradford, Bradford's black community began campaigning for his release.

Rain fell in Bradford today, but it did not discourage holidaymakers out for a day by the sea. Typical were the 500 optimists who rose early to use the special transport services and catch the first of ten excursion trains which left Bradford Exchange Station for the coast - the 7.55am to Blackpool. Two-and-a-half hours later, hundreds more in search of the sun filled two more Blackpool-bound trains, and railway officials at the station talked of having to put on another train for Blackpool.
