Fair proves big success

Organisers of a recruitment and training fair in Keighley's Airedale Centre said they were delighted with the response.

The event was staged by the Telegraph & Argus's sister paper, the Keighley News, in association with the employment advisors group Jobs@.

Exhibitors included Keighley College, the army and firms providing products and services ranging from stairlifts to residential care.

Keighley News events manager Amanda White said moving the fair from its previous venue - Keighley College - to the Airedale Centre was the right decision.

She said the new venue helped attract hundreds of people of all ages and backgrounds.

"We had absolutely fantastic feedback from the exhibitors - they thought it was a really worthwhile day" she said.

"They would definitely like to come back and take part again, so we want to expand the fair in future.

"This wasn't just meant to be a jobs fair. We also had people giving guidance on things like how to write a CV and succeed in interviews."
