Designs on awards

Building and redevelopment projects in Ilkley will be commended in Ilkley Civic Society's annual awards.

The society is expected to hand out two awards and seven commendations to the people behind a number of projects around the town in the past year at its Design and Conservation Awards 2007 on Thursday.

Residents were invited to nominate new buildings or re-developments which contribute to the town's environment or which they feel are good examples of design in keeping with the surroundings.

The awards will be announced at Church House, Church Street, from 7.30pm.
