Officer numbers at all-time high

Ilkley Police Station has the highest numbers of officers based there in its history, say police.

The Keighley and Ilkley Neighbourhood Policing Team says the recent addition of new Police Community Support Officer Andrew Smith means the station, on Riddings Road, is now better staffed than it ever has been.

PCSO Smith is the seventh PCSO to be based at the Ilkley station, working in the Wharfe Valley. Three regular police constables are also based at Ilkley Police Station.

There were fears in the past that the Ilkley station was to be closed.
