Ambitious show takes to stage

Drama students at Salt Grammar School are in the final stages of rehearsals for the most ambitious production ever staged at the school, Les Misérables.

Between Wednesday and Saturday, a 30-strong cast will perform a special schools version of the hit musical which has run for 21 years in London's West End.

Pupils have been rehearsing tirelessly for the past five months in readiness to stage four show-stopping performances. Several members have even worked with actors from the London cast to develop their acting skills.

Producer and director Richard Roebuck said: "It is because of the dedication and hard work of this extremely talented group of young people that, with a greatly reduced rehearsal period, we are able to present such a spectacular show."

Tickets, priced £6 for adults and £4 concessions, are available from the school.
