Brothers hurt in blaze

From the archive, first published Monday 26th Mar 2007.

A bedroom fire left two young brothers needing hospital treatment.

The boys, aged two and four, suffered smoke inhalation in the blaze at Firthcliffe Mount, Liversedge.

They were treated at the scene before being taken to Dewsbury District Hospital as a precautionary measure.

Cleckheaton firefighter Craig Hill said the blaze, which took hold of a toaster and a plastic toy in an upstairs bedroom, had smoke-damaged the house.

The boys' parents were unharmed in the fire, which happened at 7.35am on

Saturday.
