Research plea

From the archive, first published Monday 5th Mar 2007.

Bradford families with young babies are being asked to volunteer for a research project studying the level of family support services.

The project is being run by the Centre for Child and Family Research at Loughborough University in conjunction with Bradford Council.

Families with children under the age of one who are in touch with a family support worker or social worker are being invited to take part in the study to help improve the service they receive.

Bradford is one of nine local authorities participating in the study which is funded by the Department for Education and Skills. It aims to determine whether family support services are consistent across the country.

Kath Tunstall, interim director of Bradford Council's Children's Services, said: "Any research which looks into how our services could be improved is welcome. Our role is to ensure that every child in the district has the best possible start in life and it is only by listening to the views of the people we support that we can achieve this."

To take part in the study, or for more information, contact Ainsley or Emily at the Centre for Child and Family Research on freephone 0800 036 0506 or text 07876 144 994.
