Learning opportunities to expand

From the archive, first published Wednesday 7th Mar 2007.

Bradford adult learners are to enjoy further educational opportunities, thanks to a social enterprise group.

West Yorkshire Social Enterprise Link, a sub brand of Business Link West Yorkshire funded by Yorkshire Forward, has assisted Education Advice Service for Adults (EASA) to take the first steps towards a more rewarding career or further education opportunities.

This year EASA celebrates its 25th anniversary and since its formation in 1982, it has become a one-stop-shop for anyone over the age of 18 looking for direction or information, providing guidance to around 7,000 adults a year.

Social Enterprise Link stepped in to help the organisation with cash flow forecasting and business planning and encouraged staff to attend seminars and training workshops on marketing, website design and financial planning.

EASA's chief executive, Marion Hamilton said: "Social Enterprise Link has been instrumental in moving our business forward, ensuring that we can offer our clients a first class, sustainable service.

"They gave us guidance on business planning and marketing as well as helping our staff to access training and opening up networking opportunities.
