Centre extension work gets underway

From the archive, first published Wednesday 7th Mar 2007.

Work began today on a £30,000 extension to the Sue Belcher Community Centre in Bracken Bank, Keighley.

A prefabricated building is expected to be delivered by the end of this week then attached to the centre in Bracken Bank Avenue.

The building, funded through the estate's Streets Ahead regeneration scheme, will provide a second activity room and much-needed storage space.

The new room will allow extra activities during holiday play schemes, a creche for regular events and activities for different ages at the same time.
