Handbag snatched

A thief got away with a MP3 player in a handbag snatch on Gargrave Road, Skipton.

The 18-year-old female victim, who was from Giggleswick, had been talking to the offender outside St Stephen's School minutes prior to the theft at 10pm on Sunday.

He walked away, but returned and grabbed the victim's black and white fake leather bag.

It contained a Creative Zen MP3 player with headphones, Sony Ericsson Z2501 mobile phone, purse and bank cards.

The offender then fled along Gargrave Road, heading away from the town centre.

He is described as white, aged 18, of thin build and 5ft 10ins tall. He had short blond hair and stubble and wore a white top and blue trousers.

Police want to hear from witnesses they have not already spoken to and anyone who finds the bag.
