Man 'serious but stable' after street attack

A Pudsey man remained in a "serious but stable" condition in hospital on Monday after a brutal attack in the street. John Heary, 47, was punched and knocked to the ground and then assaulted in Stanningley Road, Leeds, just after 2am on Saturday. His attacker then walked off towards Leeds city centre. Mr Heary is detained in Leeds General Infirmary. Anyone with information about the attack, which happened between the old Bramley fire station and the KFC, should call Pudsey Police help desk on (0113) 2414589, or text a message to 07786 200806, using the word assault.'
