Man 'serious but stable' after street attack

A Pudsey man remained in a "serious but stable" condition in hospital on Monday after a brutal attack in the street. John Heary, 47, was punched and knocked to the ground and then assaulted in Stanningley Road, Leeds, just after 2am on Saturday. His attacker then walked off towards Leeds city centre. Mr Heary is detained in Leeds General Infirmary.
