Team’s boost for Daisy appeal

Queensbury Junior Amateur Rugby League Under 13s have raised more than £500 for Bradford Cancer Support's Daisy Appeal.

The team raised £541 in February by taking part in a sponsored run around the All Weather Pitch at Long Lane in Queensbury.

Team coach John Hanson decided to get the kids involved in raising money for the charity after a suggestion from one of the team's parents, Carol Montgomery, who has already raised money towards the appeal in other ways.

Linda Enderby, Fundraising Co-ordinator for Bradford Cancer Support, said: "I think it is wonderful when youngsters get involved in helping people. We are extremely grateful to them all."
