From the archive, first published Monday 16th Apr 2007.

The woman who graced the pages of a worldwide fund-raising calendar and were featured in a big screen movie are exposing themselves once more.

This time the famous Calendar Girls are appearing on a box of chocolates made by Whitakers Chocolates of Skipton.

The photographs feature on a special box of twelve Neapolitan squares and each chocolate is wrapped with an image of each of the woman, members of Rylstone and District WI near Skipton.

They are the same images which launched the women world wide and helped them raise over £1 million for Leukaemia Research.

Twenty pence from every box sold will go directly to Leukaemia Research.

John Whitaker, owner of Whitakers Chocolates, said: "The phenomenon of the Calendar Girls is just amazing.

"Something that began in north Yorkshire is now known worldwide and I'm delighted to help the girls raise even more cash."

The woman have continued to raise money and so far have amassed £1.3 million for the cause.
