Drugs and alcohol on agenda

People will be able to talk about drug and alcohol concerns regularly at neighbourhood forums in Keighley and the surrounding area.

The twin issues will be added to the agendas of the public meetings, hosted by Bradford Council, which are held about three times a year in each community.

Keighley Area Committee called for the inclusion last week after hearing a report about action currently being taken to tackle drug and alcohol abuse.

Members heard about the local work of police, long-established advice service Project 6 and the Airedale Community Drug and Alcohol Team.

Committee members, who are Bradford councillors representing Keighley wards, heard that all statistics concerning local drug use had increased last year.
