John Evison has been appointed national business development manager for a Remploy scheme aimed at keeping people with health difficulties in employment.
Return to Work' has been launched to help those suffering from problems such as stress, depression, anxiety and back pain to remain in work or to quickly get back into a job following ill health.
Oakworth's Mr Evison was previously a senior manager with one of the UK's leading companies in the management of safety, health and environmental risks, and provided Remploy with advice and services.
He sees many synergies between his past professional experience and his new position with Remploy.
"Both organisations place the care of people at the heart of their operations and both focus on their futures," he said. "Last year Remploy supported in work or back into work over 10,000 people with a range of physical, sensory and mental disabilities. The aim of the Return to Work' service is to increase this figure even further."
