Police are warning shoppers and shopkeepers to beware of counterfeit new £20 notes.
Otley Police Inspector Simon Hepworth is urging everyone to be on the lookout for the fake, new-look notes.
He said: "The criminal fraternity have already made copies of the new £20 notes and have started running off forgeries.
"Some of these have been passed over to various fast-food outlets in Yeadon, in particular, and it's likely they are being used on a more widespread basis.
"We'd like people to stay on their guard and to look very carefully at their £20 notes, which I think will fail the shop pen test'.
"If anyone has a suspect note they should keep hold of it, put it in a plastic bag and get in touch with us.
"We need descriptions of people who are passing over these notes and leads to find out where they are originating from."
Anyone with information should call Otley Police on 01943 858034 or 0845 6060606.
