Coaching sessions start

The recently-completed athletics track at Leeds Road Playing Fields in Huddersfield is set to be the venue for a new community athletics club for juniors wishing to develop running, jumping and throwing skills at weekly sessions taking place on Tuesdays (4pm-5.15pm).

Open to boys and girls aged eight to 13, the club will offer coaching sessions for beginners and improvers.

Coaches are from Longwood Harriers, who will be working with Kirklees Sports Development officers.

Leeds Road includes a six-lane 400 metres track

with an eight-lane 110m straight.

Tonight's session is free but there will be a charge thereafter.
