Health chiefs consider hospital report

Health chiefs are to consider a report on a strategy for the long-term future of Wharfedale Hospital.

A strategic plan was demanded by Wharfedale Hospital Forum members following the shock decision in December to close Ward 1.

The first work towards achieving the plan, a Framework for the Development of Wharfedale Hospital, will be presented to Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust board on Thursday.

Otley MP Greg Mulholland has welcomed the progress but is calling on the Trust to build in guarantees about the future of key services.
