WASHBURN VALLEY: The heaviest fish caught this month was a 14lb 8oz rainbow trout by Steve Syree using Dawson's olive. The heaviest fish caught this week was a 6lb 1oz rainbow trout by J Passelow using g/h Montana. Fewston: A new fishery record was by Steve Syree. His large catch took him on three long runs down to the backing and was netted before his Dawson's fell out. Fish taking natural patterns, buzzers, Montana and black pennell as the water warms up and insect life hatches out. Swinsty: Many new anglers like Swinsty due to open banks enabling good casts. Cat's whisker and appetizer are popular flies. Blue trout being caught on Swinsty giving great sport. Anglers taking advantage of good wading spots. Thruscross: Now coming into its own as fly life becomes more prevalent, brownies rising to gorge. Wild brown trout, now rising to midge, bring brown across the water.   more...

Vehicle sends man through window

A man was seriously injured when he was struck by a car and sent crashing through the window of a takeaway restaurant. The 28-year-old was standing outside Milano's restaurant, in North Street, Keighley, in the early hours of Saturday, when the incident happened.
