A school that was only relea-sed from special measures' last month is celebrating after a positive Ofsted report.
Aireville School, in Skipton, which was put into special measures in September 2006 in an attempt to bring about rapid improvement, has jumped two categories in a short time. The school, a specialist sports college, has now been graded "satisfactory" in all categories of teaching and pupil growth.
Head-teacher Stuart Mason said it was good news, although work still needed to be done.
He said: "The inspectors decided we no longer require special measures and have moved us to the category satisfactory.' This represents a rise of two categories as schools often move from special measures to a category requiring a notice to improve', rather than moving straight to satisfactory as we have done."
The report said the school had improved "considerably" since 2006 when standards were "exceptionally low and achievement inadequate".
